Movies worth talking about
Discover movies that we talk about at Showcase Cinemas. Some of which we agree on and others we don't. Movies which have surprised us, moved or captured us in such a way that we need to share them. They are films to be experienced on the Big Screen and shared with an audience. Movies that will be talked about—and stay with you—long after the final credits roll.

Shelby's PICK—Why did we CERTIFY this movie?
Jeremy Strong, Mikey Madison, and Jeremy Allen White make up a more recent crop of award-contenders in the Golden Globe and Emmys spaces, and all three undoubtably shine bright in Aaron Sorkin’s follow-up to The Social Network.
The Social Reckoning gives its audience an inside-look at the darkness lurking behind our social media algorithms, with a compelling duo between Madison and White leading the charge to surface it. Strong’s take on Zuckerberg is as intentionally-robotic as expected when mirroring the Facebook founder, which will surely invite a few laughs in your auditorium. But expect the intensity of his performance to keep you on your toes, particularly in a few shared scenes with comedian turned-actor Bill Burr.
Entirely deserving of a second viewing (especially to nail-down all the tech-based lingo), the film understands the push-and-pull between free speech and misinformation online, but leaves you with a clear understanding on how all the wrong choices came to pass. With fantastic storytelling and palpable tension, this cinematic drama deserves to be seen in theatres, with friends, and your mobile device set to airplane mode.
