Heats Up Early Access Screenings And The International Box Offer Prior To Mid-Feb Bow
“Game of Thrones” move over, there are some new dragons coming to town on February 22! This past weekend, “How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World” grossed approx. $2.5 million through sponsored early access screenings at Showcase and other exhibitors. This result bested the grosses of similar early access screenings for both “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” and “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation.” Even more powerful, the film’s International box office cume is more than $85 million (and counting) and it currently carries a 98% Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. Toothless, this film is not!
Speaking of Rotten Tomatoes, it goes without saying that this year’s Oscar Nominees all have Fresh Scores (albeit some fresher than others), but a big change from last year is that there are many popular blockbusters in the running for Best Picture (versus solely arthouse films)…
